New year Beauty resolutions 2019

By January 3, 2019Uncategorized

New year new me?

Why not New year ,’better, healthier, loving myself more’ me?

With the change of year we feel the sense of self improving don’t we? we know deep down we can be doing more or better for ourselves, This January I propose you make a conscious choice to put yourself first.

Here are some ideas for you that have a direct impact in the way we look

1.Walk more :

Staying active is so important .

Walking is indeed a weight-bearing exercise. As little as 30 minutes of brisk walking a day can make a positive change to your health and wellbeing.

Some of the benefits include:

  • increased cardiovascular and pulmonary (heart and lung) fitness
  • reduced risk of heart disease and stroke
  • improved management of conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol, joint and muscular pain or stiffness, and diabetes
  • stronger bones and improved balance
  • increased muscle strength and endurance
  • reduced body fat

2.Hydrate!:

I say this a lot, I know, but it is fundamentally one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve our overall health, energy levels, skin clarity (helps to prevent or ease acne), flush toxins, avoid kidney stones and constipation..whats not to like? The daily recommended water intake is eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters which seems easy enough, but most of us don’t drink enough throughout the day.

Try slicing some fruit into your water if you aren’t used to it, lemons, oranges, lime, cucumber all are excellent choices for a refreshing hydrating boost ,as soon as you start feeling the benefits it wont feel like a chore any more.

Many studies support the claim that if you don’t stay hydrated throughout the day, your energy levels and brain function start to suffer!

3.Clean your diet:

It doesn’t have to be a drastic change, try introducing more vegetables, leafy greens and fruits to your daily food intake, ease off on the sugary treats, dairy, the fizzy drinks, and the processed foods. So eat all of your fruit and vegetables for those  vital nutrients that will make your skin just glow – simple, easy way to boost your beauty.

4.Cut out or reduce those nasty habits :

Alcohol and smoking…we ALL know it isn’t good, and while the occasional glass of wine can actually be beneficial to your health, overdoing it will set you back tremendously.

Drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes doesn’t do your skin any good. Smoking releases a mad amount of  toxic substances into the body (around 4000!) during every drag, stains your teeth, gives you bad breath, not to mention the havoc it causes to your health in general!.. and excess alcohol intake will cause your skin to dry out and eyes to become puffy , cut down in order to improve your skin’s elasticity and reduce puffy eyes.  Its a win win situation.

 5.Rest:

Have you ever heard the expression  “beauty sleep”? There is a reason behind it.

Sleep DOES make you beautiful, during deep sleep our cells renew themselves , and when we have a rough night or periods of not so great sleeping we can easily see the effects (and feel them!)

Sometimes sleeping can become hard work, daily stress and worries can take a toll on us, so trying to switch off electronic devices at least an hour before bed, having a relaxing bath, doing some light stretching, deep breathing ,meditation and of course avoiding caffeine from 4 pm are great tips to start your  journey back to restful nights and fresher mornings.

6.Look after your skin:

It doesn’t have to be a a full time job, once you get into a routine (like with everything else) it wont take you long and it will become just another part of your daily/nightly routine , and you will be grateful for it.

Cleansing your skin, hydrating internally, removing make up, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing will definitely ensure your skin is looking fresher, radiant and feeling wonderful.

7.Treat yourself:

Yes! A a manicure, having your brows shaped and tinted, your lashes, going to the hair dressers, having a spray tan…whatever makes you feel that extra umph confidence boost! You deserve to feel nice.

In general terms investing in yourself pays off, the more you do the better you feel, the better you look and when you have that extra confidence, that little spring in your step , powerful things happen.

Last but not least is my personal favorite:

8.BE KIND TO YOURSELF:

Not only in the ways mentioned above, but try to be mindful of the way you think, the way you talk to yourself…it can make a huge difference in your happiness and sense of self worth.

  • Dance more
  • Say NO, being a people pleaser at the expense of your own sanity or happiness doesn’t do anyone a favor in the long run.
  • Take a break when you need one
  • De-clutter
  • Get out of your comfort zone every now and then ,take a risk  (comfort zone is the death of dreams I heard someone say one day)
  • Remove yourself from toxic relationships of any sort
  • Give yourself credit when due
  • Laugh…we don’t laugh nowhere near enough
