What’s the point in spending all that time and money finding a salon and the best waxing therapist who can give you the perfect hair-free feel, if you are not going to continue the care at home?

Here are our top five tips for maintaining bump-free skin in between waxes:

Moisturise the waxed area regularly with a Aloe vera Gel, which will help to alleviate any irritation. Ingrown hairs are often caused by dry or flaky skin.

Exfoliate the waxed area several times a week to get rid of dead skin cells. Again, if it’s an intimate area, make sure you choose a suitable scrub that is not highly-perfumed and not so harsh that will irritate your skin or make it sore.

Dead sea salt used as bath salts can help prevent infection as can anti-bacterial shower gels. Avoid doing this for up to 24 hours after treatment as may sting.

And remember…

NO fake tans, massages, extreme heat treatments (e.g. very hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms), swimming, sunbathing (including sun beds or any other exposure to UV light), exercise, or tight clothing for 24-48 hours.
Avoid applying deodorant, anything perfumed or make-up to the waxed area for 24 hours.

Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. This symptoms will subside within the next 24-48hrs.

Where did waxing come from?-
The Egyptians may have been the forerunners of many beauty rituals, but they invested the most time into hair removal. Women of ancient Egypt removed all of their body hair, including that on their heads, with tweezers (made from seashells), pumice stones, or early beeswax and sugar based waxes.

Or you could forget the wax and turn to laser hair removal? –
Laser hair removal effectively removes hair from the face and body. An in depth consultation is given prior to your first appointment so we can correctly identify your hair density, thickness and colour to give you the best result possible. During the treatment gel is applied to the area that will be treated, then using a hand held device the laser is applied to disable the hair follicle. Celebrities are a massive fan of laser hair removal, Kim Kardashian, Lilly Ghalichi, Hoda Kotb and Khloe Kardashian.

“I am Armenian, so of course I am obsessed with laser hair removal! Arms, bikini, legs, underarms … my entire body is hairless.” – Kim Kardashian

”Laser Hair Removal has saved my life! my legs were like cacti! I had to shave those bad boys twice a day!” – Ashley Roberts
