Hey girl! Winter is here and your skincare needs have changed!
As we mentioned in previous posts , it can take a toll on your skin. The cold outside weather, the heaters inside.. in addition to drinking plenty of water there are a few extra steps you can take to protect your skin.
These are the MUST HAVE winter essentials to keep in your bag this year!
- Lip Balm with SPF – Chapped lips are never in!Use a deeply moisturising lip balm with ingredients such as shea butter and SPF to protect your lips during the colder months and keep your pout ‘kiss ready’ whatever the weather.
- Sweat Control Towelettes – Since you’re constantly wearing warm clothing and heavy coat, the heating in your building may be a bit too high and you are likely to get a little sweaty, and thats ok! Combat that with sweat control Towelettes. Its a fab idea to keep a few in your purse just in case. It will give you peace of mind. Not a bad idea to pair it with a stick deodorant if you need to reapply.
- Hand Lotion – Yes! Even better if it has SPF,SPF should be worn ALL year round to protect your skin! Your skin needs moisture to keep from getting dull, dry and patchy, when it comes to moisturising it has to be done, from the inside and out. Taking care of your skin is a great investment, pay particular attention to areas that are exposed such as your face and your hands.
- Hand Sanitiser – Not so much beauty but you will thank us or this. With all the germs that fly around in winter months, it’s always a good idea to keep some hand sanitiser in your bag. To use in between hand washes when you are on the go. They tend to dry your skin if you over use them so remember to moisturise before bed.
By keeping these essentials in a small makeup bag in your purse this season, you’ll be able to minimise the most common winter skin issues.Protect your skin throughout the day to make the most of your skincare routine and look fabuYOUlous all winter.
And for all of you Dermalogica lovers , here are some quick winter product recommendations :
Layering on extra hydration during colder seasons will restore lost moisture and relieve dry, thirsty skin.
Start with Multi-Active Toner, a refreshing toner that rehydrates with Aloe Vera and Cucumber. Mist over skin after cleansing to reduce tightness and lock in moisture.
Follow with Skin Hydrating Booster, a super-fluid that hydrates tissues and plumps parched skin. Apply 6 to 10 drops directly to skin, or mix with your favorite Dermalogica Moisturizer.
For an added boost, apply Skin Hydrating Masque 2 to 3 times a week after cleansing to calm, infuse skin with protective antioxidant vitamins, and restore moisture for fewer fine lines.
